General information and advice at Outreach Desks in some areas. On the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month between 10 am and 2 pm at the Happy Hub in Eastgate Basildon. More desks will be opening during 2024. Each new desk will be advertised here and on our Facebook page.

Our home visiting service is now operating. We can allocate these visits to people who are totally housebound or virtually unable to leave their home. While we can only make home visits to help complete benefit application forms, we can advise on other subjects during the visit. Unfortunately, we cannot visit to conduct benefit checks or complete blue badge application forms. However, if you are unable to visit us, we will arrange to assist you with your inquiry by other means, such as email or telephone, through our new project with the help of volunteers. Please contact the main office if you require a home visit.

At DIAL, we assist clients who wish to appeal against their benefit result. If your benefit claim is unsuccessful, it is crucial to act quickly as there are strict time limits for lodging Mandatory Reconsiderations and Appeals, usually within one month from the date of the decision. Before we can advise on an appeal, it's important to follow the procedure and request a Mandatory Reconsideration from the DWP. If you are still unhappy with the outcome, you will need to complete an SSCS1 form for an appeal. Please contact us if you would like help with this form. Our appeals staff will guide you through the process, including representing you at the appeal hearing if necessary. Unfortunately, we are unable to assist everyone with their casework, but we will still provide advice and review your paperwork. In some circumstances, we may be able to refer you for further help to another organisation. For enquiries or assistance with an appeal, please email us or give us a call.
